The location was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning sea views and the chance to spot seals and dolphins right from the kitchen window. The house itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed exploring the nearby landmarks, such as Dunnet Bay and Castle Mey, and the kids had a blast cycling and running around in the big garden. It was a truly memorable experience that we'll cherish forever.
For dads, it would be great to have some outdoor seating options for the family to enjoy the beautiful views together.

The room at Mey Cliff Cottage was such a cozy haven! I loved the rustic charm and comfy beds that made me feel right at home. Having 2 bathrooms was a game-changer, especially with a shower and a bath. So convenient!
I wasn't a big fan of the decor in the living area, but hey, that's just my taste. Others might still find it charming.

The house at Mey Cliff Cottage was absolutely stunning! It exceeded my expectations in every way. The spaciousness and cleanliness of the house were top-notch, and the thoughtful design made it incredibly comfortable. Despite the blustery weather outside, the house was warm and cozy with no drafts. The central heating system worked efficiently, and the powerful showers were a treat. The location was truly breathtaking, with panoramic views of the sea, islands, and even abandoned buildings on Stroma. The tranquility and ever-changing scenery were mesmerizing. There were plenty of walks to enjoy in the area, and Thurso and Wick were easily accessible by car. The host and housekeeper were polite and made sure we had everything we needed. I didn't want to leave this amazing house!

Mey Cliff Cottage offers a breathtaking location overlooking the Pentland Firth, providing a peaceful and picturesque setting. The spacious and comfortable rooms are well-equipped with ample wardrobe space and comfortable beds. Guests can enjoy the changing light across the sea, spot seals, dolphins, and a variety of sea birds. The cottage is clean, warm, and provides powerful showers. The hosts and housekeeping staff ensure a pleasant stay.
The kitchen utensils, pans, and glasses are dated, and the curtains are too flimsy, allowing early morning light into the rooms.

I recently stayed at the charming Mey Cliff Cottage for a week-long getaway. The property was impeccably clean and well-maintained. The level of facilities provided exceeded my expectations, and the breathtaking views from the kitchen and living room overlooking the Pentland Firth to the Orkneys were absolutely stunning. Watching the variety of ships passing by and using a ship-tracking app to identify them added an interesting touch to my stay. The nearby attractions, Castle Mey and John O Groats, were easily accessible and added to the overall experience. I was so impressed with my stay that I immediately booked another visit upon returning home.
Would happily recommend this hotel.

This house is absolutely mind-blowing! The photos don't even come close to capturing its true beauty and spaciousness. It's spotlessly clean and so comfortable, it felt like a home away from home. The attention to detail is superb, with everything you could possibly need. Even with the wild weather outside, the house was warm and cozy with no draughts. The showers are powerful and the bathrooms are luxurious. The host and housekeeper were incredibly polite and made sure we had everything we needed. The location is simply jaw-dropping. The breathtaking view of the sea and the islands of Hoy and Stroma is just the beginning. Watching ships and spotting rainbows became our favorite pastime. There are so many walks in the area, and nearby attractions like Castle Mey and John O Groats are just a short drive away. We already can't wait to come back for another incredible stay!

The cottage at Mey Cliff was cozy and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The 2 bathrooms were a definite plus, especially the shower which was so refreshing after a long day of exploring. We loved having the option of both a shower and a bath - it was like a mini spa retreat!
Personally, I found the beds a bit too firm for my liking. But hey, different strokes for different folks!

Spacious and spotlessly clean cottage with a stunning view of the sea and nearby islands. The house was warm and cozy, even during the windy and rainy weather in October. The central heating worked efficiently and there were powerful showers in both bathrooms. The host and housekeeper were friendly and ensured we had everything we needed. Plenty of walks in the area, including Castle Mey and Harrow Harbour. Convenient location for visiting Thurso and Wick.
Furniture was too low for individuals with arthritis, and a high-backed armchair would have been helpful. Lack of drawer storage in the bedrooms and limited storage options in the bathroom.
